We are pleased to announce that private space explorer Anousheh Ansari (who spent one week aboard the International Space Station in September 2006) has pledged $100,000 to Earthrise, contingent upon our raising an equivalent amount of matching funds. This donation, and its matching funds, will allow us to place our first telescope at the Earthrise dark-sky site and formally begin operations. We are thus asking for your help in meeting this challenge that Ms. Ansari has set for us and in allowing us to begin carrying out our vision and our mission.
